Notes: In November 1899, Pernilla Williams was listed as the wife of Theodore Bird in Source 109. At that time she was living with Myrtle Bird at 137 Sixth Street in Detroit. We believe that the name Pernilla was mistakenly recorded and that, according to a family bible (per Source 1246), her actual name was Pamelia Elizabeth Nelson.

Pamelia had been the wife of Theodore Williams — based upon the two newspaper articles quoted below.

The Adrian Daily Times of 30 September 1899 (Source 111), reported that the "Sixth street home of Bird and Curtis was in a basement of two rooms, the front being used by [Theodore] Bird and his wife, the rear by [Theodore] Williams, his wife and four children". Also, it reported that "Williams once told this neighbor that she was not married to her husband by whom she has had several children".

One month later, the Adrian Daily Times reported that "The woman now living with Bird was Williams' legal wife, and the woman who Williams was living with was a sister".

Source 708 and Source 798 indicate that she had 10 children total: five with Theodore Williams and five with Theodore Bird.
