John Sinclair Abbott John Sinclair Abbott Notes:  John joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany circa 1957.  The photo at the right was taken two years later when John at age 22 married his sweetheart.

John always loved computers and as an engineer, worked for several computer companies in that capacity.  He started several companies and in the latter part of his career, he resigned, sold the large family home in Carmel, Indiana, and returned to grad school at Cincinnati Bible College.  He mended broken churches after graduation, and began new ones, until he moved to a permanent church and stayed there for almost seven years.  He loved what he did and loved retirement even more.

John retired in the year 2000 because of his health, and then he got better.  He and his wife lived in Texas in a retirement park with his sister and her husband living just a block away.  Their mother lived there too, until she passed away in 2002.  The cost of real estate is one of the reasons he moved to Texas.  The cost of living was next to nothing and yet, they had plenty to do and time to travel.

John put Linux on everything but the electric toothbrushes!  He and his wife moved to a larger home in 2004 in the resort and John made all kinds of changes electronically.  John was the go to guy in their retirement resort.  The more technical, the better, for him.  His computer was all Linux.  He taught a class in Linux that winter.  He was busy building a wireless network for the resort.  Everyone was anxious to finally have high speed access!

John passed away in 2014 after a long battle.
