She had to raise the young family by herself following Matthew's death in 1828.

Research Notes:
Source 691 reports that her surname was "Barnhill"; however, Sources 101, 192, 692, and 693 all give her surname as "Parkhill".  I therefore conclude that "Parkhill" is most probably correct.

Source 105 reports that Elizabeth was 55 years old in 1850.  Thus her calculated birthdate would be 1795 or 1796.  However, 1795 and 1796 are highly unlikely given her marriage in 1806 or 1807.

Source 692 reports that her parents were David Parkhill (1724 to January 1794) and Martha Murray (died 1842).  It gives her birthdate only as "aft 1776".  But based upon David's death date, Elizabeth's birthdate would be earlier than 1794 — especially since she had younger brothers and sisters.

Source 674 reports that its reading of Elizabeth's headstone gives her death on 24 Jul 1850.  However, the 1850 census (Source 105) indicates that she was alive in August 1850.  More significantly, a land deed (Source 187) shows that Elizabeth, the widow of Rev. Williams, was alive on 19 Feb 1852.  It is possible and even likely that the tombstone reading was a misread "1859".  Source 692 and Source 1536 both give her death year as 1859 — which is the most probable year!

Source 674 and Source 1536 both report that Elizabeth was 68 years old when she died.  Since they are most probably correct, her calculated birth year would be 1791 (that is, 1859 - 68).

The Register of Wills (Source 190) indicates that Elizabeth Williams died on 5 April 1887; however, Source 190 may be referring to Elizabeth Parkhill's daughter Elizabeth Williams.  More research is needed here.
