Notes:  Elizabeth Parkhill was born about 1791 in Red Stone, Westmoreland, Pennsylvania.  Her parents were David Parkhill and Martha Murray.  She was the ninth of eleven children.

Elizabeth married Matthew Williams about 1807.  Between 1807 and 1824, they had eleven children.  In the 1820 USA census, Matthew Williams is enumerated in the Deer Township, Allegheny County.  The census records two adults over 25 years, and seven children.

Elizabeth's husband was a Presbyterian preacher, and he was away for days riding the circuit.  Elizabeth was often left alone to care for the children, and many times the wolves and bears came near to her door.  Matthew died 11 Sep 1828, and Elizabeth was left to raise the young family by herself.

In the 1840 USA census, Elizabeth is enumberate in the West Deer Township.  There were six children living at home.

In the 1850 USA census, Elizabeth, 55, is living in West Deer Township, but now her son William, 36, a farmer, is listed as head of the household.  Also in the household is Matthew, 25, a farmer, and Nancy, 22.  The total of their real estate combined is $3,000.

Elizabeth died 24 Jul 1859 in Sharpsburg, Allegheny, Pennsylvania.  She is buried next to her husband in the Pine Creek Cemetery, Allison, Allegheny, Pennsylvania.
