Notes:  *Some genealogists spell Harriet's name as Harriett Bennitt or as Harriet Bennett; however, these spellings are most likely incorrect.  More likely correct is the contemporation spelling Harriet Bennet. A family story says that she was from an upper class family and her parents did not approve of her marring a butcher's son. Harriet moved from England to Canada with her husband in 1851 and lived in Toronto for 5½ years.  After that she moved with her husband to Jura, Bosanquet Township in Lambton County.  There they raised their family and remained until they moved to Forest on Clyde Street in 1895.  She lived in Forest for the rest of her life. Harriet was very ill for 12 months prior to her death.  Her funeral took place from the house of her son-in-law David White, lot 27, con 13, Plympton.  The pallbearors were six of her grandsons.  At the time of her death she had 51 grandchildren and 52 great grandchildren.
