|Notes: Bee was born in Newport News, Virginia, but grew up in Napa County, California.
She was a precocious child, earning her the nickname Bee as in "busy as a bee".
Her life's journey lead her to reside in California, Arizona, Tachikawa Air Base in
Japan, Hawaii, and then 28 years in Seattle, Washington.|
The photograph at the right shows Bee circa 1953 with her daughter, son, and second husband. She was short, intelligent, friendly with Southern charm, and well travelled. A devout Episcopalian, Bee was known for her outgoing personality, sharp wit, and stylish dress — especially relative to her hats (see photo below).
During her later years she lived with her son, Morrie, and his family in the basement of their home in Seattle. Following Morrie's illness in 2009, Bee moved to Azle, Texas, to be cared for by her daughter Vicki. Bee's health declined during her final year and she passed on at age 99½ in 2011.
