Notes: Gary enlisted in the U.S. Army on 21 Feb 1941. He was then single, 6' 1" tall, and weighed 155 pounds. He became a Master Sergeant and served in New Guinea from 1942 to 1945. He was in a group that received the Presidential Citation for the battle of the Bismarck Sea.
