Notes: In February 1911, as her father Robert was about to marry Edwina, Robert's parents agreed to take care of Marie. Robert's parents, with granddaughter Marie, soon moved to San Francisco.

During Robert's second tour of duty at Mare Island, he and Edwina were still living in their home on York Street in Vallejo, California. During this time son Bob was born. Robert and Edwina had expected to have Marie come to live with them, but health and other factors always seemed to make it impractical, especially since Marie was doing so well at school in San Francisco — and Robert's folks felt that it would be so much better for her to remain with them. It worked out beautifully, as Marie got a much better education than her father could have given her. She graduated from Finishing School at Dominican College in San Raphael and spent most all her vacations with Robert, Edwina, and their three children.

In 1922 Robert moved his family to Napa and bought a small ranch with 13 acres of prunes and pears. Marie spent every summer, Christmas, and other holidays at the Napa ranch with Robert, Edwina, and the kids.

In 1932 Marie was registered to vote as a Democrat and was living in San Francisco at 620 Second Avenue. Her housemates there were her step-grandmother Mary and her step-uncles Stanton and Harry.

Marie subsequently married a medical doctor: Dr. Royle Kenneth (Ray or Ken) Laubhan.

Marie passed away at age 68 after being in failing health for several months.
