Notes:  Hilary's given name and surname were found in his cemetery record and on his headstone (Source 1435); however, the spelling of his middle name is less certain.  Hilary's roll of father of Johanna was established by her marriage record (Source 1432) and the 1920 U.S. Census (Source 1440).  That Census also gave us Hilary as his nickname.  Hilary's death record provided his death place, his burial date, and an alternate spelling of middle name (Source 1441).

Hilary immigrated to the United States in 1886 and was Naturalized in 1891.  He farmed near Roberts and became a retired widower by 1920.  He was 86 at when he died.  He was buried at Lyman Cemetery's Section A Plot 65.
