Notes: *Birth year conflict! Four U.S. Censuses plus the California Death Index report a total of four different years of Hope's birth as follows:
Census of 1910=birth in 1905, 1920=1905, 1930=1908, 1940=1902, Index=1912
Only one year can be the correct year of Hope's birth. The 1912 birth year in the Death Index is obviously wrong because Hope is known to be alive in 1910. Of the four censuses, the 1910 Census was the one closest to Hope's birthdate. It therefore is the most contemporary and more likely correct. The 1910 Census reveals that Hope's parents were married for "6" years and that Hope's age at her last birthday was "5". That suggests that Hope's parents were married in 1904 and that Hope was born in 1905. However, the exact years are dependent upon the specific but unknown month of marriage and month of birth. Given the data's sensitivities, I am reporting Hope's birth year as "1905" — although 1904 is possible.

Hope resided with her parents in Vallejo at least until 1940. She passed on in 1959 at age 54 or 55. She was buried in plot 2011 B at the Carquinez Cemetery.
