Notes:  In February 2008 the son of John and Ethel searched all of his records and found no
evidence that his parents actually married or divorced.  The son said My mother
separated from John shortly after my birth.  My mother and family, as best
that I can remember, said nothing on the subject.  My mother did not want to
talk about John and wouldn't let me see him but once when I was 5.  Only in her
last year did she give me any information about John and his family.  So I am
sorry there is no one alive that has this information.
I had never considered this until today.

However, the marriage certificate of Ethel's subsequent marriage to
Roy Preston shows that she was using the surname
Price some five years after her separation from John.  This strongly
suggests that John and Ethel had a married — rather than an unmarried
                                  — relationship. |
