Peter Franklin Butler passes away following long illness.  Napa Journal, Napa, California, 3 Jun 1928, page 1, columns 5 & 6.

Note:  This obituary contains three apparent errors:
  1. The obituary states that In 1886 they moved to Petersburg, Boone County, Illinois.  However, Petersburg, Illinois, is not located in Boone County, and Peterburg, Nebraska, is located in Boone County.  Thus, I believe that the obituary should have said Nebraska — rather than Illinois.

  2. The obituary erroneously reports that the father of Peter Franklin Butler was Peter Butler.  Source 1114 and Source 1086, which I considered to be more authoritive evidence, report that the father of Peter Franklin Butler was John Murphy Butler.  Further, the latter source reports that the grandfather of Peter Franklin Butler was Peter Butler.  The informant was obviously in error.

  3. The obituary gives the middle name of Peter's first wife as Emalice; the correct name may have been Emeline or Emmelline.
