Notes: By 1918, Milton Finley Curtain and his wife Dora Georgia Curtain were living in their own home
at 1034 S. St. Andrews Place, in midtown Los Angeles. The house was built in 1915,
and had 2,042 sq. ft. Milton was a silk buyer
for the J.W. Robinson Co. department store. According to the 1920 USA census,
they owned their home free of a mortgage. This was their long time marital
home.
In the 1930 USA census, the home had a value of $10,000, and they owned
a radio. Milton was now the owner of his own silk shop, and Dora was working as
a saleswoman in the store. In 1930, they had a 33 year old female servant.
In the 1940 USA census, the value of their home was $5,000.
When Milton died in 1944, Dora continued to live in the home. |
