Notes: William and Ann Stewart were both born in Ireland, as were their first four children. The family, which included Margaret, Mary, Isabella, and Hannah, immigrated to Canada about 1849, and settled in Fullarton Twp., Perth, Ontario. By the 1851 Canada census, William and Grace had been added to the family, and by 1861, Selena and Andrew.

Helen Stewart, their last child, was born 30 Nov 1861, in Fullarton Twp., Perth, Ontario. In the 1871 Canada census, William was 56, and was a farmer. Ann was 53, keeping house. The children still at home were Isabella, 26, Hannah, 24, Grace, 19, Selena, 17, Andrew, 13, and Helen, 9. (In the census records, Helen is recorded as Ellen.)

The 1881 Canada census included William, 66, still farming, Ann, 64, Isabella, 36, Grace, 25, and Helen, 19. William died in 1892, and Ann died in 1900.
