Notes:  According to family sources, John C. Brodie was born 16 Aug 1861 in Furnace, Glassary, Argyll, Scotland.  Angelina Sibson was born 24 Jan 1868 in Guernesy, Channel Islands.  They were married in 1885 in South Dakota. In the 1900 U.S. census, John C. Brodie, 38, born Aug 1861 in Scotland, and his wife Angelina, 32, born Jan 1868 in England, were living in Lyons, Boulder, Colorado.  John, a naturalized citizen, had emigrated to the United States in 1883, and was the foreman in a stone quarry.  Angelina had emigrated in 1884. John and Angelina had been married for fourteen years and Angelina had had eight children, six of whom were then living.  These were John Charles, 14, born Dec 1885, Mary C.L., 9, born Dec 1890, William E., 7, born Jan 1893, Frances A., 4, born Oct 1895, Angelina S., 2, born Nov 1897, and Thomas J., 5 months, born Dec 1899.  The older three had been born in South Dakota and were attending school.  The younger three had been born in Colorado. The family was renting their house.
