Notes: Dorothy was born 6 Jan 1908, probably in Scotia, Schenectady County, New York. Her parents were George P. Frier and Caroline H. Cooper. Her father worked for the local General Electric plant. She had a brother Charles, one year older. The family is found in Scotia in the 1915 and 1925 New York State census records.

In the 1930 U.S. census, Dorothy was living with her parents and brother at 115 Collins Street, Village of Scotia, Schenectady, New York. Also living with the family was Paul Dean, who she married 14 Jun 1930, just 2 months after the census taker was there. Dorothy was a bookkeeper for a bank. Paul was a mechanical engineer for General Electric.

In 1935 and 1936, Dorothy and Paul were living at 220 Second Street, Scotia. By the 1940 U.S. census, they were living at 511 Charles Street, Glenville, New York. They had two daughters, ages 4 and 1. Dorothy had had four years of high school.

The family moved to Pennsylvania, where Paul was still employed as an engineer for General Electric. The Erie, Pennsylvania, City Directories for the years 1946 through 1954 lists their address as 619 Howe Avenue, Lawrence Park, a first class township in Erie County, Pennsylvania. They eventually moved to Southern California.

Dorothy's last residence was Upland, San Bernardino, California. She died 30 Oct 1983, and is buried with her husband in the Bellevue Memorial Park, Ontario, California.
