Notes:  Selina Baker was born 25 Aug 1852 in Fullarton Twp., Perth, Ontario.  Her parents were James Baker and Julian Davis.  She was the second oldest of at least ten children.  In the 1861 and 1871 Canada censuses, her family is found residing in Fullarton Twp., Perth.  Her father was a farmer.
Selina married John Detwiller on 30 Dec 1875 in Elma Twp., Perth.  Selina and John started their married life living near the town of London in Middlesex County.  Their first son Charles was born in 1876 in Westminster Twp.  He was followed by Minnie in 1878, Julia, 1881 (London Twp;), Emma, 1882, John (Will), 1884, and James, 1886.

Shortly after James was born, Selina and John moved their family west to the Province of Manitoba.  In the 1891 Canada census, they are found living in the Rural Muncipality of Cornwallis.  Franklin their seventh child was three years old and had been born in Manitoba.  Their last daughter, Eva, was born in 1892.  Moving farther west, John and Selina lived in the Glenwood/Hayfield area of Brandon, Manitoba.  Their farm was on Sec. 23, Twp. 8, Range 20 W, W 1st Meridian.  Sometime after the 1911 Canada census, John and Selina moved and were living in Cornwallis near Brandon, Manitoba.  In the 1916 Manitoba census, only three of their children were living at home.

Selina died 11 Apr 1922.  John had preceeded her in death on 13 Jan 1920.  Both are buried in the Brandon Hills Church Cemetery, Brandon, Manitoba.
