Notes:  Franklin Detwiller was born 22 Aug 1888 in the Rural Municipality of Cornwallis, Manitoba.  He was the seventh child of James Detwiller and Selina Baker.  His older siblings had all been born in Middlesex, Ontario.  These included Charles, born in 1876, Minnie Etta in 1878, Julia Maud in 1881, Emma Georgina in 1882, John William in 1884, and James Christian in 1886.

Shortly after James was born, the family moved west to the Province of Manitoba.  In 1891, they are found living in the Rural Muncipality of Cornwallis.  His sister Eva Myrtle was born in 1892.  In 1901 the family was living in the Glenwood/Hayfield area near Brandon, Manitoba.  Sometime after 1911, the family moved and were living in Cornwallis near Brandon, Manitoba.  In 1916, only James, Franklin and Eva were living at home.  Both James and Franklin were farm hands.

Franklin married Stella Baker, probably in Manitoba, but nothing is known about the marriage.  They moved to British Columbia about 1924.  He was a handyman, doing repairs and painting.  Franklin died 1 Jun 1950 in St. Paul's Hospital, Vancouver.  He had suffered from hypertension, and died of myocardial degeneration.  His last residence was 2549 Dow Avenue, Burnaby, British Columbia, which he shared with his brother James Detwiller, and presumably his wife Stella.  He was buried 5 Jun 1950 in the Ocean View Burial Park, Burnaby, British Columbia.
