Her siblings, all born in Manitoba, were Leslie, 15, Benjamin, 13, Lorne, 11, Herbert, 9, Gordon, 3, and Ethel, 11 months. Tom Slyzuk, a farm labourer from Austria, was boarding with the family. The family was Presbyterian.

Mae married Robert Hamilton Harvey, date unknown, probably in Manitoba. They had two sons. At some point in time they moved to British Columbia. When Robert died in 1980, their residence was 630 Madore Avenue, Coquitlan, British Columbia. According to family reports, Mae died in 1992.
