Notes: Frances M. Dow was born 6 Jan 1894 in California. Her parents were William Henry Dow and Florence MacKinnon. She was the oldest of three children. In the 1900 U.S. census, Fannie Dow, 6, was living with her parents, William, 32, and Florence, 35, at 72 Eureka Street, Redlands, San Bernardino, California. Her sister Joy F. was 4, and brother Edward D., not yet one year. Her father was a naturalized citizen from Canada, and had a Farmer Store Laundry. Their house was owned free of mortgage.

In the 1910 U.S. census, the family was living at 1337 Walnut Street, Los Angles, California. Her father, William H. Dow, 44, was the manager of a laundry. Her mother Florence was 42. The children were Fanny M., 16, Joy F., 14, and Edward D., 10. Living with the family was her paternal grandparents, Edward A. Dow, 71, and Fanny F., 64. Their home was owned with a mortgage.

Fannie Dow graduated from Los Angeles High School in 1913. In 1918, still living at home, Fannie was a teacher. Her sister Joy F. was a clerk, and her father, Wm H., was the manager of the Diamond Laundry Company.

Frances M. Dow married Dion H. Romandy on 28 Jun 1921, in Los Angeles, California. In 1924, when they registered to vote, their address was 4768 W. 12th St., Los Angeles. Frances was a housewife and declined to state a party preference. Her husband a musician and Republican. Their son Richard Dion was born in May 1925. Their daughter Lois Anne was born in Sep 1929, and only lived three days.

In the 1930 U.S. census, Frances, 36, and Dion, 35, were living at 916 Holt, Los Angeles. Their son Richard was 4, and Dion was still playing in theaters. In the 1940 U.S. census, they were living in Beverly Hills. Frances, 46, had completed four years of college, Dion, 45, had completed four years of high school, and Richard, 14, one year of high school. Dion was working as a musician on radio. The rent for their apartment at 200½ Rexford Drive was $50., and they had a radio. They were registered as Democrats in the voter records.

In the 1942 Dion was working for Lockheed Aircraft Corporation, Burbank, California. In the 1950 U.S. census, Frances D., 56, and Dion H., 55, were now alone in their Rexford apartment. Dion was a musician for a radio broadcasting station.

Dion died 18 Oct 1973 in San Diego County, California. His last residence was in Solano Beach. Frances died 8 Jan 1985. The California Death Index reports her death in San Diego County. The Social Security records indicate that her last place of residence was Los Gatos, Santa Clara County. They are buried in the Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Oceanside, San Diego County,
