Notes:  Sanford G. Higginbotham was born 17 Sep 1914 in Madison, Georgia.  His parents were Williard Higginbotham and Alice Gregory.  He had three older brothers, William, Fletcher, and Millard, and an older sister Matha.  In the 1920 U.S. census, the family was living in Madison Twp., Georgia.  His father passed away before 1930, as his mother is a widow and head of household in the 1930 U.S. census.  In 1930, Millard, Sanford, and a younger sister Sara, were living with their mother.  Alice was listed as a farmer, and they lived on a farm.

Sanford ended up in Southern California, where he married Joanna Pouncey Olson on 8 Feb 1980.  They made their home in Joanna's home in Arcadia.  A Public Index record shows an address for them in Littleton, Colorado, at some point during their marriage.  Sanford died 27 Sep 1997 in Arcadia.  He may be buried in the San Gabriel Cemetery, San Gabriel, where Joanna was buried 8 years later.
