Notes: Edwin Alfred Johnsen was born 8 Oct 1919 in Beaumont, Jefferson, Texas. He was the third of three sons born to John Peter and Ida Johnsen. His older brothers Carl and Walter were born in 1914 and 1916 in Dallas County, Texas.

In the 1920 USA census, Edwin's family was renting at 2395 Grand Avenue, Beaumont. His father Peter was a florist in a greenhouse. In the 1930 USA census, the family was living at 1594 Easy Street, Beaumont, and all three brothers were in school. Edwin completed the 11th grade. His father was the owner of a florist business. In the 1940 USA census, Edwin was now 21 years old, and he and his brothers were all working as florists in the family business.

Edwin enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and served in World War II. He was a member of Major Drive Church of Christ, Beaumont.

The Beaumont, Texas, City Directory for the years 1952 through 1960, listed the various members of the Johnsen family and their business locations. Johnsen's Wholesale & Retail Florists, Inc. had locations at 2190 Avenue A, and in the Beaumont Hotel at 393 Fannin. Peter was President, Carl P. was Vice-President, Edwin A., Secretary. and Walter E., Treasurer.

In 1952 and 1953, Edwin was living with his parents at 2720 Lakeview Circle, Beaumont. By 1954, Edwin had married Josephine Roberts, a designer, and the couple was living at 1415 Lyle, Apt, 11, Beaumont. By 1960 they were living at 5250 Swallow Drive.

Edwin died 7 Nov 2010 at home in Beaumont at the age of 91. He was survived by his wife, four children, eight grand-children, and six great-grandchildren. His funeral services were held Thursday, 11 Nov 2010, followed by a family committal at Broussard's Crematorium.
