Notes:  Pearl Vernell Mortenson, often called Vernell, was born 23 Nov 1923 in Pomerene, Cochise, Arizona.  She was the youngest child of George Franklin Mortenson and Edith Lenora Western.  Her older siblings were Bertha, Eva, George, Oral, Everett, Loman, and Delbert. In the 1930 U.S. census, the family was living on Upper Lowell in Lowell, Cochise, Arizona.  Her father George was a fireman for the copper mines.  The children living at home were Oral, 16, Everett, 13, Loman, 11, Delbert, 8, and Vernell, 6.

In 1935 and in the 1940 U.S. census, the family was living at 326 Hoggard Street, Warren, Cochise, Arizona.  Her father George had was a deputy sheriff.  Her two brothers at home were Everett, 23, and Delbert, 18, both gas station attendants.  Vernell, 16, a student, had completed two years of high school.

Pearl married Edwin Vaughn Evans on 29 Jun 1940.  In 1952, they were living at 3634 B. Hardy, Tuscon, Arizona.  Edwin owned Evans Sand and Gravel.  Edwin died 10 Sep 1962, and is buried in the St. George City Cemetery, St. George, Washington, Utah.

Pearl married Earl Wadsworth Walker on 12 Jun 1964, probably in Nevada.  In 1975 they were living at 107 Grove Street, Henderson, Clark, Nevada.

Earl died 3 Apr 1991 in Clark County, Nevada.  He is buried with his first wife in Bunkers Memory Gardens Cemetery, Las Vegas, Clark, Nevada.  Pearl died 9 Feb 1998 in Las Vegas, Clark, Nevada.  She is buried with her first husband in St. George City Cemetery, St. George, Washington, Utah.
