| Notes: Wanda Geraldine Walker was born 16 Jan 1922 in Pioche, Lincoln, Nevada. She was
the third of five children of Owen Francis Walker and Sarah Adleen Craw. She had an older
sister Ellen Mae born in Mar 1917, and an older brother Owen Craw born in Dec 1919. Her younger
siblings were Audrey born in Apr 1924, and William. In the 1930 U.S. census, the family was living on County Road, Pioche. Her father Owen was a laborer in the mining industry. The children were May, 13, Owen, 10, Wanda, 8, Audrey, 6, and Billy, 3. The family was renting their house and the older three children were in school. Wanda was involved in the 4-H Club in Lincoln County. In Jul 1931, she attended Nevada's twelfth annual junior farm bureau camp at Zephyr Cove, Lake Tahoe. On 9 Sep 1939, Wanda was a charter initiate in the Mary Theta Rho Club No. 4 of Pioche, and was installed as secretary. Her mother Adeline Walker, past president of the Rebekah Lodge assisted, and her sister Audrey Walker was installed as outside guardian. In the following years Wanda became Vice President and then President of the club. In the 1940 U.S. census, Wanda was living with her family in Pioche in the same house as in 1935. They owned the house, worth $2,000. Her father Owen was a waiter mechanic in a lead zinc mine. The children at home were Craw, 20, an underground miner, one year of college; Wanda, 18, 2 years of high school; Audrey, 16, one year of high school; and William, 13, five years of school. According to Family Search, Wanda Geraldine Walker married Buster Edward Neukam on 10 Feb 1943 in her family's home in Pioche, Lincoln, Nevada. Their marriage license was issued on 10 Feb 1943, and the family reports he left for the armed services ten days later. Buster left Reno on 22 Feb 1943, for the induction center at Fort Douglas, Salt Lake City, Utah. Therefore, they may have married on 12 Feb 1943. Buster and Wanda had a family of two children. In 1957, they were living at 1205 Reynolds Ave., Las Vegas, Nevada. Buster was a foreman for the Urban Electric Company. Buster Neukam died 31 Jul 1970 in North Las Vegas, Clark, Nevada. He is buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Las Vegas, Nevada. Wanda Neukam and Andrew Jackson Blad were married by a religious celebrant on 5 May 1990 in Pioche, Lincoln, Nevada. In 1992, their address is listed as 1205 Reynolds Ave., North Las Vegas, Nevada. In 1996 they are listed at 112 Redstone St., Las Vegas, Nevada. From 1999 to 2000 a phone directory index lists them living in Caliente, Nevada. Wanda Walker Neukam Blad died 22 Jan 2000, at the age of 78, in Las Vegas, Clark, Nevada.
