Notes:  Barbara Louise Gilroy was born 2 Oct 1927 in Los Angeles, California.  Her parents were Bert Gilroy and Thelma L. Barrou.  In the 1930 U.S. census, Barbara L. Gilroy, 2½,was living with her parents, Bert, 30, and Thelma L., 28, in the Hollywood Sunlite Apartments at 1541 Winona Boulevard, Los Angeles.  Her father was a production manager in a motion picture studio.
In the 1940 U.S. census, Barbara, 12, was living with her parents, Bert, 41, and Thelma L., 38, at 627 No. Alpine Drive, Beverly Hills.  She had completed 6th grade.  Her father was a motion pictures producer.  Barbara attended Beverly Hills High School, and is pictured in the 1943 and 1944 Yearbooks as a sophomore and junior.

Barbara Louise Gilroy married Richard Dion Romandy on 19 Sep 1948 in the Westwood Community Church, Los Angeles.  They honeymooned in Carmel, Monterey and Santa Cruz.  In the 1950 U.S. census, Barbara L., 22, and Richard D.. 24, were living at 2514 26th Street, Santa Monica.  Richard was a salesman for a wholesale auto parts company.

Barbara was a member of the American Saddlers, an equestian troop.  In 1949, she was the assistant chairman at the Second annual Amateur Horse Show at the Leo Dupee Stables in Culver City.  In 1952 she was in the color guard in the Balboa Valley Days in Culver City.

Barbara's marriage did not last long, and she married William A. Preston on 27 Feb 1957 in Clark County, Nevada.  They repeated their vows on 2 Dec 1958 in Los Angeles.  Throughout the years Barbara lived in several places, including Pasadena and Monrovia (1987), California; and Ingram, Texas (1993).

Barbara and William had two daughters, Shari and Vicki.  William died 27 Oct 1978 in a Glendale, Arizona hospital.  He was a finish carpenter for Del E. Webb Corp., and had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.  Barbara died 20 Dec 1997.  Her last residence had been in Ingram, Texas, and last Social Security benefit was received in Peoria, Maricopa, Arizona.  Barbara and William are buried in the Bay Pines National Cemetery, Bay Pines, Pinellas County, Florida.
