Notes:  Barbara Meier Blickenstorfer moved into the home of George Staheli in mid 1862.  Barbara's husband Solomon had died 9 Apr 1862, and George's wife Sophia had died 3 Jun 1862.  George needed someone to help care for his baby daughter Barbara, who had been born Christmas Day 1861.  He also had five other children ranging in age from 13 to 5 years old.  In their memoirs, the children speak fondly of being raised by Barbara.  There is no evidence that Barbara and George were ever married, but her headstone states "Wife of Geo. Staheli".  In the 1870 U.S. census, George and his children are listed living in Santa Clara, along with "Margretta" keeping house.  It is presumed that this is Barbara.

George did marry again, to Rosina Reber in 1871, which marriage was sealed.  They had four children of their own.  It is unknown what living arrangements Barbara had after this time.  Barbara died 9 Feb 1880, and is buried in the Santa Clara City Cemetery, Santa Clara, Utah.
