Notes: According to family sources, Louis Abraham LaPlant and Helen Retzlaff were married
6 Dec 1933 in Jamestown, Stutsman, North Dakota. In the 1940 U.S. census, they
were living on his family farm in Tyrol Twp., Griggs, North Dakota. His mother,
Rosa Rosa L. LaPlant, now a widow, was listed as head of the household. Both
Louis and his mother were listed as farm operators. Louis and Helen had
four young chidlren, and Frank Geiger, a hired farm laborer was living with the
family.
Three more daughters were later added to the family. The family farm was located
near Jessie, and the children attended school in Jessie and Kinglsley Twp., before going
on to Binford High School.
Louis died 4 Oct 1974, his last residence being Binford, Griggs, North Dakota.
Helen died 28 Aug 1991, in Grand Forks County, North Dakota. Both are buried in
the Binford Cemetery, Binford, Griggs, North Dakota. |
