Notes:  Solomon Blickenstorfer married Ana Barbara Meier on 18 May 1846 in Affoltern.  They had one son, Gottlieb, born 31 Jul 1846 in Affoltern.  Solomon and his wife became members of the Church of Latter-day Saints, and in 1860 joined other Swiss Mormons emmigrating to the United States.  They, along with their son Gottlieb, sailed on the Wm. Tell from La Havre, France, arriving in New York 13 Apr 1860.  They made their way to Salt Lake City, where, in 1861, they were called by Brigham Young to go south to settle in Santa Clara, Washington County, Utah.

Solomon became sick on the journey, and died 9 Apr 1862, just a few months after their arrival in Santa Clara.  He became the first man to die in Santa Clara.  The cemetery had yet to be established, and it is unknown where he was buried.  Barbara moved into the George Staheli household to raise his six children after his wife died in Jun 1862.  Barbara died 9 Feb 1880, and is buried in the Santa Clara Cemetery.
