Zimprich, Jr., age 75, resident of Aneta, ND, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2004, in the Cooperstown Medical Center - Hospital, Cooperstown, ND. Joseph was born April 13, 1929, in Cooperstown, ND, the son of Joseph J. Sr. and Anna (Fiebiger) Zimprich. He grew up and attended country school in Lenora Township, rural Aneta, ND. On June 25, 1953, he married Mary Lou Arlien in Tolna, ND. The couple had one son Terry. Mary Lou died November 6, 1957, at the age of 22. Joseph married Catherine Detwiller Walen on July 2, 1958, in Cooperstown, ND. Joseph adopted her three children; Jerry, Dale and Sandra. Together Catherine and Joseph had three children; Cheryl, Kevin and Susan. Joseph was a lifelong member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a former member of the Sharon School Board, the Griggs County Fair Board, Lenora Township Board and the Griggs County Library Board. Joseph farmed his entire life and most of his hobbies revolved around the love he had for farming. He had a gift for striking up conversations with complete strangers, something he would do frequently when visiting another town. Later when his health deteriorated he worked on puzzles, watched western movies and recently started organizing all of the family photos. | ||||
