Obituary

JOY CHIRSTENSEN
1930 ~ 2012
Joy Christensen       Our loving mother went on to join her eternal companion and children, June 11, 2012.  She will be missed by all who knew her.
She was born the ninth of eleven children, January 8, 1930 in Hinckley, UT to George Lyle Stewart and Clara May Walker. In high school, she met Myron Whitney Christensen on a street lit corner in Hinckley, UT, and married him in the Manti Temple, May 1, 1952 after his mission.  She attended and graduated from Branch Agricultural College, Cedar City, UT.  She worked as a nurse assistant, receptionist and piano teacher for over 50 years.  She taught her children to develop their talents, taught the true meaning of charity, and was an excellent example of trying to live a Christ-like life.  She faithfully served in many church callings and with Myron served in the Florida Tallahassee Mission, 2000-2001.  She had a strong testimony of Christ's love for us and our ability to be forgiven.
She is survived by her children Dale (Tammy), Mark (Joyce), Lynn, and Wendy (Nelsen), ten grandchildren, and six great grandchildren, three sisters, and three brothers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, son, parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
We want to express our thanks for many ward members who cared and loved her so greatly.
