      William Henry McFarren, 28, a resident of Modesto for the past 38 years, died in a local hospital yesterday after a long illness.
      A native of Missouri, he leaves his widow, Josephine McFarren of Modesto; a daughter, Bess Williams of Fort Bragg, Mendocino County; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
      Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM tomorrow at the Franklin & Downs Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Wood Colony Cemetery.
