Notes: In the 1940 U.S. census, Elmer C. Walker, 30, and his wife Zora D. Walker, 25, were living on
Highland Road in Pioche, Lincoln, Nevada. Elmer, born in Nevada, was a hoisting engineer in a metal mine,
and earned $2,300. in 1939. He had completed high school, and in 1935 had been living in Tonapah, Nye,
Nevada. Zora, born in [Croatia], Austria, had completed high school, and in 1935 had been living in
Goldfield, Esmeralda, Nevada.
Elmer and Zora were renting their residence for $25. per month. Their two children were Shirley L., 2,
born in Nevada, and Clemons F., 1, born in Utah. A third child was born after 1940.
