Notes:  Robert Joseph Mulcahy, Jr., was born 22 Jan 1942 in Illinois.  He was the son of Robert Joseph Mulcahy and Mary Josephine.  In the 1950 U.S. census, Robert J. Mulcahy, Jr., 8, was living with his parents, Robert J. Mulcahy, 50 and Mary J., 45, in Chicago, Cook, Illinois.  His father was an accountant auditor in the electric highway industry.  Also in the household was his older sister, Mary Catherine, 14, and his mother's aunt, Anne Kenney, 69.

Robert graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago and entered the U.S. Military on 1 Nov 1964.  After training at Quantico in Virginia, he was stationed at Camp Pendleton, California.  He served in the Marine Corps from 1967 to 1970, earning medals, including the Purple Heart, for service in Vietnam.

Robert became a Life Guard for the City of San Diego at Mission Beach and La Jolla.  He went to Cal Western Law School, becoming a member of the California Bar in 1973.  He joined the San Diego Attorney's office, eventually retiring as a Deputy City Attorney.  The 1974 San Diego City Directory lists him as an attorney at 2666 Ocean Front Walk.

Robert may have been married a first time to Margaret, as California divorce records show a divorce in Jul 1984.  He met Linda Jean Noble in the mid-1980's, when they were both in their mid-forties.  Their marriage date and place is unknown. They made their home in San Diego and La Jolla.  He was an active member of St. Brigid Parish, San Diego, and a volunteer in the community.

Robert died 30 Apr 2024 and services were held at St. Brigid Parish on 3 May 2024.  He was buried 9 August 2024 in the Miramar National Cemetery, San Diego, California.
