(AP)  —  Hearing of nine charges against George McIntyre, suspended chief of police, for alleged neglect of duty in various cases, was adjourned last night until September 9.  The defendant and his counsel, William George, did not appear.  Earlier in the day a letter had been received by City Clerk Wilfred L. Baldwin from the counsel for defense reiterating a previous motion that the case be adjourned because important witnesses were outside the state.  Joseph M. Feinberg, special prosecutor for the common council, opposed adjournment.
