Clifford E. Ferrell, 1811 Manhattan Ave., Hermosa Beach, was the happiest individual out of 2500 persons attending last night's Hermosa Beach merchant amateur show and Merchandise drawing — he won the jackpot prize consisting of 13 gifts. The jackpot award was an accumulation of prizes not claimed during two previous drawings. For eight Friday nights in succession Hermosa Beach merchants will hold similar drawings, comencing at 7 o'clock. Eight awards, other than the jackpot, were given away last night. AT present the South Bay Camera Club consists of 50 active members who meet semi-monthly in Room 105 of the science building, R. U. H. S. for discussion of their work and general shop talk. Anyone interested in photography is eligible to join the club. Officers serving at present are Ted Smock, president; Clifford Ferrell, vice-president, Frederick Heidenreich, treasurer, and Ethel Kinley, secretary. Annual Alumni Day festivities at Occidental College will be held on Saturday, June 11, according to Alfred Hartley, class of '36 president of the Alumni Association, who will serve as chairman of the day. Clifford Ferrell, of 961 CalleMiramar, Hollywood Riviera, will serve as chairman for the Redondo Beach area. Ferrell is a member of the executive committee of the South Bay Area Occidental College Alumni Club. | ||||
