Notes: This was a two-bedroom, one-bath, 1006 square foot house built in 1938 — and
received by Vi when Bud and Vi's divorce was final on 15 Sep 1941.
Duke moved in when he married Vi on 16 Sep 1942.
In the 1950 U.S. census, Stewart M., 42, and Viola C., 30, were living here with their two
children, ages 6 and 3. Stewart was the proprietor of his own tire shop, and Viola was
keeping house.
The photo at the right shows the 1206 Banks Avenue house in its July 2006
condition. It looks almost the same now as it did back in the 1940s. |
