The photograph below shows Al at the Carneros Grammar School in Napa, California, in 1907 or 1908 when Al was 13 or 14 years old.

When Al was 24 years old he was married with two children, and worked as a farm hand on Joe Kiser's ranch in Napa.  He was tall and slender with light blue eyes and light brown hair, and had been in the California National Guard for three years.

When Al was 37 years old he was married with five children, owned their home on Brown Street in Napa (which was valued at $1800.00), and operated the Napa Poultry and Egg Company — which he ran for many years.  He then owned and operated a delicatessen.

Al later worked in the transportation department at the Mare Island Navy Yard for 18 years, retiring in 1955.

Al had been living at 1700 Pueblo Avenue, Space 615, prior to his death at age 75.
