Notes: Marvin attended Napa High School and later went to University of California at Davis extension in Agriculture, but did not get a degree.

Marvin worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard as a pipe-fitter on submarines during World War II.

Following the war, Marvin worked at the Sunset Seed and Nursery in San Francisco. He later purchased the business and operated it until 1961. He then worked for the Burlingame Park Department until his retirement in 1975, when he returned to Napa.

A member of Yount Lodge No. 12, Marvin enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He passed away at age 75 after a lengthy illness.
