Notes: *Since most if not all of Jim's siblings were born in Allegany County Maryland, Jim may have been born there — rather than in Pennsylvania.

In Aug 1870 Jim was age 38 and living with his brother Samuel Lewis Coleman in Yount Township of Napa County, California.

On 1 Apr 1875 Jim resided in Napa County and bought 80 acres of land from the U.S. Land Office. That was in addition to the 160 acres of land that Jim bought on 15 Feb 1875 from John Walternath.

Jim almost certainly married Mrs. Bertha Gudmundsen in the early 1880s — following the death of her husband, Mr. Knud Gudmundsen, in 1881. Jim probably was in Napa County when he died. He was buried in Tulocay Block 67 Lot 25 #6 — close to his wife Bertha Coleman.
