Notes:  *Toben was Johanna's surname used on her marriage record, on her cemetery record, and in a reliable family history (Source 1422) — and therefore in this website.  The Tobin spelling in some census transcriptions and other family histories has been determined to be incorrect.

Johanna became a Naturalized U.S. citizen in 1890.  She became a widow when her husband died in Jan 1914.

In the spring of 1938, due to his poor health, Johanna'a brother Hy quit working at a hotel in Fargo, North Dakota, and moved to Roberts, Illinois, to reside with Johanna.  They resided together until August 1941 when Johanna gave up her home.
