Notes:  Madeline was a very active and outgoing person, proud to talk about her family and to tell stories about her childhood.  She also was proud of her work during World War II at several military facilities in the San Francisco bay area and in central California.  She was a full-charge bookkeeper and personal secretary to various military officials as well as in the private sector.

Madeline had an adventurous and full life.  She loved to sing and dance and could really kick up her heels.  She was never afraid of trying something new, and she loved to have fun while doing it.  She loved to travel with her husband; they ventured to England, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, and Mexico.  She was a true Viking at heart.  They roamed western Canada and all over the western U.S. in their motor home and could often be found camped out at Botega Bay.

Madeline loved playing the piano, organ, and guitar — and enjoyed oil painting.  She was church organist and bible teacher for over 25 years.  She enjoyed being a Christian woman and gathering with her fellow church members.

Madeline died at age 78¾.  She was a resident of Sacramento for 48 years and was married to Lester Briner for 43½ years.
