Notes:  Mert founded SS Greenhouses with her husband Ivor and worked to her last day the way she planned it.  Even during the very hot, humid days of Ontario summers Mert would be working hard in the Greenhouses. Mert was a foster parent to over 100 children, plus to every young girl and boy that came to her door.  She alway had pumpkins and flowers to give the kids when they arrived at the greenhouse. God has one more angel!  It's my time. she said.  Her dying thoughts were not of herself but of her family.  If you ever met Mert you would leave saying I love that lady!  Life to Mert was a simple triplet:  love your work, love your family, and love your church.  Diamonds and gold mean nothing without my family.
