Notes:  In 1861, on the day the English census was taken, Julia (age 13) visited her uncle Joseph Palmer's boarding school at Buckland Monachorum parish in Devon, England.  Her brothers John Lane Palmer (age 12) and Lewis Edward Palmer (age 9) were students and resident boarders there.  Julia herself may or may not have attended school there.

In 1887 at the age of 40 Julia became a widow.

In 1901 at the age of 54 Julia lived in the town of Exmouth and the Withycombe Raleigh parish.
