Notes:  Otto had been working at the Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo for four years when Leola and he married in August 1932.  They were fascinated when the USS Constitution ("Old Ironsides") docked at Mare Island in 1933.  They took two photos of it. Their son was born in 1934 while they were living at 622 Hichborn Street in Vallejo.  Click on the photo at the left to see Otto and his son at age 4½ months in July 1934. Their 1935 address was Arkansas Street.  They then moved to 1469 Alabama Street in Vallejo.  Their daughter was born in 1940 — in Reno, Nevada. Leola and Otto lived at a total of six successive residences, all located in Vallejo, California, during their 51½ years of marriage.  They moved from Alabama Street to 15 La Vuelta, where they resided for many years.  Finally they lived at 130 Dale Court (Household 75). The photo at the right shows Otto and Leola (center) and their children in 1956. Otto retired from the "yard" in December 1964, allowing Otto and Leola to enjoy a more leisurely life style — until Otto's death in January 1984.
