Notes:  At the time of their marriage in 1860, William was about 30 years old and Jane was 18.  Their four daughters were born in England prior to the family's move to Bosanquet, Ontario, in 1871.  Their four sons were subsequently born in Bosanquet.

The years 1883 and 1884 were extremely deadly for the Stace family.  Son Frederick died of tuberculosis, after a seven-month illness, on 23 Mar 1883 at age 7 years.  Son Wesley died of tuberculosis, after a four-month illness, on 24 Apr 1883 at age 13 months.  Father William died of tuberculosis, after a six-month illness, on 29 Jun 1883 at about the age of 52.  Finally, mother Jane died of an abscess that lasted for six months, on 19 Feb 1884 at about the age of 41.  All four died in Bosanquet and were listed as being Free Will Methodists.

No trace has been found of the six children who survived.  They may have gone with one of the older daughters, perhaps named Mrs. Caleb Robertson (who attended Jane's funeral), to Reed City, Osceola County, Michigan.
