Cunard's China The Great Western Steamship Line's S.S. Arragon was built in 1871 and weighed 1,317 tons.  From 1871 to 1877 she sailed exclusively from Bristol to New York and return.  This included the voyage that arrived in New York on 9 May 1873 with about 290 passengers — including several who died in transit.

No photographs or paintings of the S.S. Arragon have been found.  She probably looked similar to Cunard Lines's S.S. China which is illustrated at the right and was a slightly larger ship.  For further information on these steamships see www.theshipslist.com.
