One of the events of Saturday [17 May 1919] at high noon was the wedding of Miss Edith Swain, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred G. Swain, and George W. Samuels of Solano.  It took place in the home of the bride's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. E. R. D. Duke on Clay street.  Mrs. Duke is the former Miss Ann Tasker Swain.
The wedding was a simple one, with only relatives and a few intimate friends present.  Following an informal reception the bride and groom left for a honeymoon trip through the south.  On their return they will make their home in Vacaville.
Mrs. Samuels belongs to a pioneer family of this city.  She is the niece of Captain Issac Swain, port warden of San Francisco in early days, and of Ann Tasker Swain, one of the founders of the Protestant Orphan Asylum.
