Notes: In 1920, Meyer Kauffman and his wife Rachael were living at 346 Cedar Street, Reading,
Pennsylvania. They were both immigrants from Kovno (now Kaunas), Lithuania, Russia,
arriving in the United States separately in 1889 and 1891. They were Jewish, their
native tongue was Hebrew, and both were naturalized citizens. Meyer was a dealer
of something (the census record is unclear), and their home was owned free of
mortgage.
There were 8 children living at home, ranging in age from 26 years to 14 years. All
of the children had been born in Pennsylvania. Esther was 16 years of age. |
