| Notes: In the 1920 USA census Lawrence J. Bitter, 45, and his wife, Louise M. Bitter, 43, were
living at 1221 Colton Street, Los Angeles, California. Lawrence was an engraver
for a lithograph company. Living with them were his daughter Marguerite J. Romandy, 21,
and her husband Gounod Romandy, 26, a concert violinist. The 1920 City Directory lists
Gounod as a musician and Marguerite as a music teacher. The marriage between Gounod and
Marguerite was a short one. |
