Notes:  In the 1905 Kansas State census, Alp Bergstein, 26, and his wife Johana Bergstein, 27, both born in Kansas, were living in Sheridan Twp., Ottawa, Kansas.  Alp was a farmer, and they owned the farm and house free of mortgage.  Their children were Dora, 3, and Saml, 4 months, both born in Kansas. In the 1910 U.S. census, Alp Bergsten, 33, and Johannah Bergsten, 34, were still living in Sheridan Twp., Ottawa County.  Alp was a farmer, they had been married nine years, and Johannah had had three children, all of whom were living.  These were Dora, 8, Samuel, 5, and Ellen, 3.
