Notes: According to family sources, John H. Williams was born 8 Jun 1864 in Virgin, Washington,
Utah. His parents were William George Williams and Orilla McFate. Susannah Elizabeth Pollock
was born 31 Aug 1870 in Kanarra, Iron, Utah. John and Susannah were married 24 Apr 1890 in
Kanarra*, Iron, Utah. They had a family of five sons and five daughters.
In the 1910 U.S. census, John H. Williams, 45, and his wife Susanna E. Williams, 39, were living in Kanarra*,
Iron, Utah. John was a farmer working on his own account. Susanna had had nine children, all
of them then living. The children were Raymond A., 19, John L., 17, Florence, 15, Hazel, 13, Lelia F.,
10, Chase, 8, Winnie, 5, Wavie O., 3, and Joseph B., 3 months. One more child, Clark, was born
following the census.
In the 1920 U.S. census, John H. Williams, 55, and his wife Susannah E. Williams were still on their own
farm in Kanarra*, Iron, Utah. The children at home were Winnie, 15, Wavie, 13, Joseph B., 10, and Clark,
7, all attending school.
John H. Williams died 9 Feb 1937 at the age of 72 in Kanarraville. Cause of death was lung cancer. His wife
Susannah Elizabeth Pollock Williams died 38 days later on 19 Mar 1937 in Kanarraville. She had had a coronary
oclusion ten months prior, and cause of death was bronchial pneumonia. They are buried in the
Kanarraville Cemetery, Kanarraville, Iron, Utah.
*Kanarra was the original name; it became known as Kanarraville at a later date.
